Kenneth Walker III gave Kansas City 177 rushing yards on 22 carries. That is just over eight yards an attempt, a substantial return on the Chiefs’ work on the ground in a 30–27 win over Las Vegas on October 4 in Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season.
Walker scored twice as well. His combination of yardage and touchdowns offers the clearest starting point for Kansas City’s afternoon, without needing to make the game into a referendum on the passing attack. Patrick Mahomes completed 15 of 30 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns, without an interception.
Tyquan Thornton gave that passing line a particularly productive receiving contribution. He caught five passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Walker’s 22 carries and Thornton’s five catches were very different workloads, but each player supplied two scores.
Las Vegas produced more passing yardage. Kirk Cousins completed 31 of 52 attempts for 365 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. That was 140 more passing yards than Mahomes, on 22 more attempts. The difference in volume is relevant to the comparison; yardage alone does not tell the whole story.
Brock Bowers caught six passes for 86 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders. Ashton Jeanty added 58 rushing yards on 15 carries. His 15 attempts were seven fewer than Walker’s, while the gap in rushing yardage was 119 yards.
