Dallas had two very different kinds of production to lean on: 17 catches from CeeDee Lamb and three rushing touchdowns from Javonte Williams. Together, those performances give a clear focus to the Cowboys’ 34–30 win over Houston on October 4 in Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season.

Lamb’s workload was substantial. His 17 receptions accounted for more than half of Dak Prescott’s 32 completions, and he finished with 189 receiving yards and a touchdown. Prescott went 32-of-45 for 335 yards and one touchdown, without an interception. Lamb’s line helps explain where much of that passing production went.

Williams offered another measure of offensive value. He carried 19 times for 62 yards, a modest yardage total beside the passing numbers. But he scored three rushing touchdowns. The distinction matters: his contribution to this result is clearer in the touchdown column than in the yardage column.

Houston had enough passing production to make the comparison interesting. C.J. Stroud completed 21 of 31 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns, exceeding Prescott’s passing yardage on fewer attempts. Nico Collins caught seven passes for 118 yards and both receiving touchdowns.

The Texans’ David Montgomery ran for 24 yards on 10 carries without a rushing touchdown. That gives the two selected rushing lines a sharp contrast: Williams produced three scores for Dallas, while Montgomery’s afternoon yielded 24 yards.
