Brewers clinch first World Series title with 4-1 Game 5 win over Rays
Milwaukee finished off Tampa Bay at Tropicana Field on Oct. 28, then turned the championship into a downtown parade plan announced by the club for Friday in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee’s long wait ended where the series did: at Tropicana Field, with four runs that the Rays never caught. The Brewers beat Tampa Bay 4-1 in Game 5 on Oct. 28, 2026, to win the first World Series title in franchise history. MLB
The game turned in the second inning, when Cooper Pratt singled and Brice Turang scored for a 1-0 Milwaukee lead. The Brewers kept extending it with single runs in the fifth and sixth, first on David Hamilton’s RBI single that brought home Pratt, then on William Contreras’ double that scored Christian Yelich.
That sixth inning also produced the cushion that settled the night. Later in the frame, Cooper Pratt scored on a sacrifice fly by Contreras, pushing Milwaukee ahead 4-0 and leaving Tampa Bay with too little time and too much ground to make up.
The Rays avoided the shutout in the ninth, when Chandler Simpson doubled and Liam Hicks scored, but the run only trimmed the final margin. The result closed Milwaukee’s first championship season and gave the club a clear next stop: a Parade of Champions and championship rally scheduled by the Brewers for Friday, Oct. 30, in downtown Milwaukee.
