Jose Ramirez delivered a powerful performance for the Cleveland Guardians in their 9-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox on October 8, 2026. His two-run homer and three RBIs stood out in a game where the Guardians’ offense steadily pulled ahead after early deficits.

The Guardians jumped to a 2-0 lead in the third inning, then overcame a brief White Sox rally that included a solo homer by Miguel Vargas, who went 1-for-2 with a homer and three walks while scoring twice. Ramirez’s bat turned the tide in the fifth and sixth innings, driving in three runs total and helping Cleveland build a six-run sixth.

Patrick Bailey drove in two runs in separate plate appearances: a solo home run in the fifth inning and an RBI single in the sixth. Jo Adell followed with a two-run single during Cleveland’s sixth-inning surge. Parker Messick recorded seven outs for Cleveland, allowing two runs on two hits with five strikeouts.

Chicago’s offense was led by Vargas and Sam Antonacci, who drove in two runs on a sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded hit by pitch. Brenton Doyle also contributed a sacrifice fly, but the White Sox could not match Cleveland’s six-run sixth inning.

Cleveland turned a one-run deficit into a five-run lead in the sixth and closed out a 9-5 win. Ramirez’s home run and three RBIs led the comeback, while Bailey and Adell supplied four more runs between them.

Correction: Patrick Bailey’s fifth-inning home run was a solo home run, not a three-run home run. He added an RBI single in the sixth.
